Sysadmin by day, developer by night

So, this weekend I traded in my 07 Envoy Denali for a 2010 Mazda5. I’ve gone from about 12mpg to an anticipated 21-24 average. My car payment also went down. However, this means I’ve lost my 20-30 minute block of the day I was putting into Scale0. I have an interesting commute and part of it was spent waiting for my wife at a commuter lot every evening. Now, I can afford to go home and pick up the kids and then go to the commuter lot as the extra driving is less expensive.

I know, probably more details than anyone really wants, but hey, it’s my blog.

I have a lot of other easier to implement ideas for unscatter.com, so I’m going to possibly focus on those for those few weekend hours. I have an awesome wife who understands that I need that time to work on my side projects, everyone needs a hobby right? So she’s going to help make sure I get some time.

I recently also registered the domain fluffcut.com The idea is I’m going to extract links from a persons Twitter and Facebook feeds, just returning those. I plan to implement embedly, cause their technology is perfect for that, and maybe offer a paid service that uses embedly pro.

So I have ideas that are much easier to implement than Scale0 right now, so I’m going to shoot for working on things where I can be more productive than trying to squeeze time to work on a project that really needs more time and brain power than I have available at the moment.
